Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HSE Specialist II to join our team at Forum Energy Technologies, Inc. This role will be responsible for coordinating and executing health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement HSE Programs: Articulate and execute operational strategic HSE direction with local leadership while supporting overall business goals.
  • Facilitate Training and Audits: Develop and facilitate internal HSE programs and processes, including training, audits, inspections, behavior-based safety, observations, risk assessments, policy, procedures, etc.
  • Lead Divisional Focus Teams: Participate in and possibly lead divisional focus and improvement teams.
  • Provide Technical Guidance: Act as a technical advisor to management, teams, and other functional groups to facilitate continual HSE improvements.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure local legal, business, and client requirements are met.
  • Facilitate Environmental Reporting: Facilitate and supervise all local, state, and federal environmental reporting, including storm water runoff, air emissions, Tier II & TRI reporting.
  • Accompany Visitor Inspections: Accompany and supervise visitor inspections, including local, federal, and state officers.
  • Recordkeeping: Recordkeeping of documents required by local, state, and federal regulations/laws.
  • Conduct Cross-Business Unit Audits: Serve as a team and/or lead HSE management system conducting cross-business unit audits with report preparation, communication, and corrective action tracking.
  • Work with Corporate HSE: Work with Corporate HSE on specific compliance initiatives, such as environmental VOC reporting, TRI, Tier 1 and 2 requirements, and federal and state environmental regulations.
  • Provide HSE Coaching and Mentoring: Provide HSE coaching and mentoring for site personnel and leadership.
  • Participate in Project Planning: Participate in project planning and change management activities to identify HSE issues and opportunities to eliminate and control risks.
  • Analyze Site Trends: Analyze site trends and root causes to present plans and suggestions to improve controls.
  • Identify Root Cause and Corrective Actions: Identify root cause and corrective actions for incidents, audits, and observations, and analyze trends using research and best demonstrated practices to address those findings.
  • Case Management: Conduct case management from start-to-finish, which may require work outside of scheduled working hours.
  • Communicate with External and Internal Customers: Communicate with external and internal customers.
  • Set Up Location HSE Teams: Set up location HSE teams and roles and provide continuing support for those identified.
  • Prepare Local HSE Budget: Prepare local HSE budget and provide input for site requirements.
  • Create Simple Communications: Create simple communications for plant floor and operational levels.
  • Maintain and Report Statistics: Maintain and report necessary internal and external statistics, data, and reports for responsible sites.
  • Interpret MSDS Information: Interpret MSDS information to make proper determination of such things as PPE, environmental concerns, etc.
Requirements
  • Thorough Understanding of OSHA Regulations: Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and the regulatory process.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to Effectively Interact with All Levels of Management: Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management.
  • Strong Presentation and Training Skills: Strong presentation and training skills.
  • Computer Skills: Computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office suite.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Associate Level HSE Certification: Associate level HSE certification preferred.
  • Related Experience: Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of related experience or 5-6 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing and fabrication environment.
