We're looking for an amazingly talented individual to monitor and measure activity and performance of a commercial telecom/IP network within AWS. The ideal candidate will collect, interpret, and report network data and individual customer performance data to provide statistics for billing. Technical knowledge includes an in-depth understanding of TCP/IP and SNMP routing protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate advanced subject matter expertise in cloud networking.
  • Contribute to and lead the planning and implementation of large-scale hybrid networking projects.
  • Regularly interface with senior management and executive leadership on strategic planning for cloud infrastructure.
  • Design highly available architectures using AWS services like Direct Connect for dedicated connections between on-premises networks to AWS.
  • Configure Site-to-Site VPNs for secure communication between remote networks.
  • Implement Transit Gateways to simplify complex network architectures by connecting VPCs across multiple regions.
  • Design hybrid networks that integrate on-premises infrastructure with cloud environments in both AWS and Azure.
  • Utilize Azure ExpressRoute for private connections between on-premises networks to Azure data centers.
  • Monitor network performance using AWS CloudWatch metrics/logging, Azure Monitor for proactive issue resolution.
Requirements:
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of related professional experience in network engineering with at least 3 years focused on cloud-based solutions within AWS and/or Azure.
  • Exhibits technical and operational proficiency in the primary duties of the job family.
  • Advanced knowledge of general principles and practices of the functional area.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot urgent production issues.
  • Proficient in developing software in one or more operating systems environment (Windows, Linux, etc).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Advanced time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • An advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate) may be preferred at this level.
