We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Lancaster General Hospital. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our patient, public, clinical, and administrative areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and disinfect all environmental surfaces, including furniture, beds, bathroom fixtures, and windows, following universal precautions.
  • Dry and wet mop rooms, hallways, stairs, bathrooms, and offices, and spot clean and vacuum carpets.
  • Gather and dispose of refuse and soiled linen, and fill supply dispensers.
  • Contact nursing personnel for discharges and transfers of patients, and report available patient rooms and send maintenance requests via computer system.
  • Wear and answer pager, responding to routine requests.
  • Remove, wash, and rehang cubicle curtains, shower curtains, and window treatments.
  • Possess a working knowledge of universal precautions, MSDS, and compactor recycling operations, and apply as necessary.
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Keep service closets and housekeeper carts properly stocked, orderly, and cleaned.
  • Report hospital property and equipment in need of repair, transfer furniture, and spot clean furniture as necessary.
  • Attend in-services and programs as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Six (6) months of experience in hospitality/medical housekeeping.
