Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Lancaster General Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing routine diagnostic radiographic and mammographic procedures with precision and care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all routine diagnostic radiographic and mammographic procedures through proper patient positioning, technique selection, and administration of contrast media.
  • Receives requests, checking for special instructions from requesting physicians, and consults with radiologists as necessary.
  • Greet patients in a timely and efficient manner, confirming their identifications, performing the correct procedures as directed, and explaining the procedure to patients and family members as directed.
  • Operate and enter information through the hospital computer system, documenting required information and patient history.
  • Complete examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required, and perform other paperwork as applicable.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Perform visual preventive safety inspections, complete warm-up procedures for each radiographic room/equipment as assigned, and record quality control activities.
  • Report equipment conditions to site Supervisor or appropriate personnel, maintain necessary inventory supplies for assigned workstation, and rotate stock to eliminate outdated items.
  • Participate in the clinical education of Radiology students as required, maintain required competency skills in point of care testing and specimen collection, and participate in on-call responsibilities for this position as required.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiological Technology school.
  • Certification in Radiological Technology, issued by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists.
  • Certification in Mammography, issued by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists, is required.
  • CPR certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of recent clinical experience beyond training.
