Responsibilities
  • Obtain quality blood samples using various phlebotomy methods for all age groups.
  • Provide rapid response to medical emergencies, such as traumas and codes.
  • Work independently and as a team, fostering an inclusive work environment and respecting colleagues with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Interact with patients, nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Accurately identify patients, label, handle, and transport specimens, answer phones, and assist with training students and new employees.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to push a cart and walk distances.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills.
Certifications

To qualify for Phlebotomist II, you must possess a valid phlebotomy certification from an approved laboratory certification agency, such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), National Health Career Association (NHA), or the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT).
