YOUR ROLE:
Position Overview:
- In the Emergency Department, you will work under the guidance of a physician or midlevel provider, assisting with airway management, patient assessment, care, and trauma treatment.
- You will triage patients, assessing the nature and severity of their conditions, and prioritize treatment needs accordingly.
- Conduct primary surveys for incoming patients.
- Administer medications, initiate IVs, and provide IV solutions in line with established protocols endorsed by the Medical Director of Emergency Medical Services and other key medical leaders.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Reports to the Medical Director of Emergency Medical Services, Medical Director of Emergency Services, and Director of Emergency Services.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No supervisory duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational Requirements:
Completion of an accredited Paramedic Program; candidates must be at least 21 years old.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an emergency department or a related field.
Certifications/Licenses:
Mandatory: Licensed Florida Paramedic, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. All certifications and licenses must be current at the time of hire and maintained throughout employment.
