Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care to patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Monitor and manage patient conditions in real-time, making adjustments to care plans as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure that all parties are informed and engaged in the patient's care.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and safety of patient care, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and research in the field of critical care, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes and advance the field of nursing.
Requirements
  • New York State License for Registered Professional Nurse and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State as an R.N.
  • Basic Life Support Training
  • Infection Control Training
  • Associates Degree in Nursing Required
  • Bachelors in Nursing preferred
  • Certification in specialty preferred
  • 1 year of RN experience preferred
  • Effective English communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval systems
