Position Summary and Requirements


We are in search of a PACU Nurse for our ambulatory surgery center who embodies the core values of our organization by providing compassionate care.

You will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective nursing care is delivered postoperatively until the patient is ready for discharge from the facility.

Your expertise will help maintain our center's reputation for employing nurses who align with our mission and vision.


Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the patient care area thoroughly and ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
- Monitor patients in accordance with established protocols (including vital signs, temperature, cardiac monitoring, etc.).
- Exhibit proper techniques for the insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks.
- Conduct and document comprehensive evaluations of patients using an approved scoring system in line with HCA policies and procedures.
- Inspect dressings and/or surgical sites, reporting any abnormalities to the surgeon.
- Create a safe and comforting environment for patients and their families.
- Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.

Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or higher degree in Nursing is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical environment, preferably in PACU, ICU, or Surgery.
- Active RN license as mandated by state regulations.
- BCLS Certification required upon employment; online certification is not acceptable.
- ACLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- PALS certification if required by the facility within 30 days of hire.
