Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers with exams, procedures, and other patient care activities under direct supervision.
  • Perform basic ancillary skills, including blood draws, venipuncture, and specimen collection.
  • Administer medications and immunizations as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Triage patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patient charts.
  • Provide timely follow-up regarding lab results and communicate with patients on wait times and treatment processes.
  • Maintain accurate and clear documentation, including patient records and supply management.
  • Notify healthcare providers of patients ready for examination, room number, vitals, and chief complaint.
  • Observe and communicate changes in patient condition to healthcare providers.
  • Participate in daily checklists, maintain compliance with regulations, and adhere to established policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and phlebotomy is required.
  • 6 months of recent experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an emergency department, urgent care, or ambulatory care clinic.
