Job Summary:

As a Telemonitor Technician at SSM Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care. Your primary responsibility will be to perform set up of cardiac telemetry, including patient preparation, and monitor patients on telemetry by computer or trans telephonically. You will evaluate cardiac rhythms and notify the appropriate persons about serious or life-threatening arrhythmias. Additionally, you will create and type over read reports, process and maintain patient and departmental records, and perform ECGs as needed. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in providing quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Performs telemetry monitoring, including patient preparation and evaluation of cardiac rhythms

Notifies appropriate personnel about serious or life-threatening arrhythmias

Creates and types over read reports

Processes and maintains patient and departmental records

Performs ECGs as needed

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

0-6 months training/experience in arrhythmia monitoring or equivalent post-high school vocational/specialized training

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide quality care to patients

Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate cardiac rhythms

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions:

May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases

Subject to electrical and radiant energy hazards

Handles emergency or crisis situations

Occasionally subjected to irregular hours

Physical Requirements:

Occasional prolonged standing/walking

Occasionally lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients

Lifts supplies/equipment

Requires manual dexterity and mobility

Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, pulling 100+ pounds
