Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Department team at NYU Langone Health. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our attending physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients in the Emergency Department, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
- Collaborate with attending physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct physical exams, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to inform treatment decisions.
- Prescribe medications and other treatments as needed, in accordance with New York State law and NYU Langone Health's policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and best practices in emergency medicine, and apply this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
- Current New York State Physician Assistant License.
- NCCPA Board Certification.
- At least 2 years of experience in emergency medicine, with a strong background in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Membership in professional organizations, such as the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) or the Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants (SEMPA).
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and other healthcare technology.
- Knowledge of quality improvement principles and practices.
