Job Title: RN PreOp/PACU Nurse

USPI Hyde Park Surgery Center is seeking a skilled RN PreOp/PACU Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our preoperative and post-anesthesia care units.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage patient admission processes to the preoperative department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assess patient health status in pre-op and ensure accurate identification wristbands.
  • Verify operative and informed consents, and determine the surgeon and procedure being performed.
  • Take and record vital statistics, initiate IVs, and educate patients on the procedure and attending medical staff.
  • Assess patients' condition after surgery, ensure vital signs are within normal range, and log findings in patient files.
  • Develop individualized care plans, ensure nursing activities are carried out according to the plan, and monitor patients for condition changes.
  • Initiate patient education programs, manage blood and fluid transfusions, and ensure the post-operative space is clean and sanitized.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Texas Nursing License.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Pre-Op/PACU.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees.
  • Clinical proficiency in pre-op/PACU nursing skills, knowledge of policies and procedures, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
