Position Overview:
As the Activities Director, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of engaging programs tailored to the interests and needs of our residents.
- Activity Planning: Design, promote, and facilitate both individual and group activities that cater to the diverse preferences of residents.
- Orientation: Educate new residents and their families about the facility's Activity Program.
- Assessment: Conduct comprehensive Activities Assessments for each resident in accordance with established documentation protocols.
- Recreational Engagement: Organize and lead recreational activities in various settings, both indoors and outdoors.
- Creative Programming: Implement educational, artistic, and physical activities that promote wellness and creativity.
- Event Coordination: Oversee the scheduling and promotion of all events to maximize resident participation and enthusiasm.
- Volunteer Management: Supervise the Volunteer Program, ensuring effective training and placement of volunteers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred: Degree in Recreational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Eligibility for N.C. licensure as an occupational therapist or certification as a recreation therapist is advantageous.
- Experience as an Activities Director or in Long Term Care is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Proficient computer skills and multitasking abilities are essential.
- Familiarity with documentation processes including MDS and progress notes is necessary.
- Capacity to perform well under pressure while managing resources efficiently.
- Valid NC Driver's License is required.
