Position Overview
As a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in wound and ostomy care, you will play a vital role in assessing and treating patients with complex skin, wound, and ostomy needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating personalized education and care plans for patients and their support systems.
- Delivering direct care tailored to individual patient conditions.
- Educating clinical staff on care plans and procedures.
- Providing ongoing monitoring and patient care as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement evidence-based policies and procedures, serving as a resource for clinical staff.
- Collaborate with nurse educators and nursing leaders to enhance continuing education programs.
- Consult with physicians on complex wound and ostomy cases, recommending appropriate care plans.
- Provide culturally competent education to patients, preparing them for self-care and transitions in care.
- Participate in quality management initiatives and performance improvement projects.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
- An Associate's Degree in Nursing and completion of an accredited Nursing Program.
- A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN) certification.
- At least one year of relevant experience.
