Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterilization and Instrument Processing Specialist to join our team at the University of Virginia Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization and processing of medical instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Verify and process medical instruments and equipment for sterilization and reuse.
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and sterilizers.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of instrument processing and sterilization.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure timely and efficient processing of instruments and equipment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • Must be certified in sterilization and instrument processing.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and instruments.
Work Schedule

Evenings, 3pm-11:30pm, Monday-Friday. No call required.

Benefits
  • 13 weeks contract.
