Job Title:

Instructor, Chemistry Lab

Job Summary:

The incumbent teaches Chemistry laboratory courses, serving as co-academic advisor and faculty mentor for the program. Key responsibilities include conducting and teaching assigned subjects, providing guidance and supervision to students, and creating an environment conducive to excellence in teaching, learning, and research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts and teaches a requisite number of classes of assigned subjects
  • Provides guidance and supervision to students
  • Creates and maintains an environment conducive to excellence in teaching, learning, and research
  • Serves as co-academic advisor for the chemistry programs to ensure students follow their degree plan, striving for academic excellence
  • Provides academic support to other faculty members
  • Maintains the chemistry labs, including monitoring and enforcing chemical safety and chemical waste disposal per university and state rules and guidelines
  • Serves as inventory liaison and maintains departmental inventory records
  • Maintains and serves equipment and instruments in the department
Qualifications:

Master's degree in chemistry or a related field, and 1 year of laboratory experience.
