Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain all machinery used in the turf department, ensuring proficiency in tools and equipment for repairs and maintenance.
  • Implement and document preventive maintenance protocols for all turf machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair various equipment types, including:
    • Gas and diesel engines
    • Tractors
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Electronic components
    • Small tools (e.g., blowers, weed eaters, chainsaws)
  • Ensure a safe working environment, adhering to local and state regulations, and following equipment operation guidelines.
  • Assist in training staff on the proper use of machinery and tools.
  • Develop methods to reduce operational costs while maximizing resource efficiency.
  • Complete repairs and maintenance tasks promptly to meet quality standards.
  • Communicate regularly with the golf course superintendent regarding equipment status and needs.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels for parts and supplies, including fuel and oil.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Provide on-course support to ensure all equipment functions properly.
