About the Role

Shimmick Construction Co. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team in Irvine, CA. As a key member of our Southwest Division, you will play a critical role in delivering large public works projects, including water treatment, water conveyance, and water storage facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop proficiency in Shimmick's estimating systems and processes
  • Prepare and coordinate preparation of full project estimates, including conceptual and final estimating input
  • Assist in analyzing and using estimates to predict key project issues
  • Conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard estimating techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • May provide guidance to less experienced estimating personnel
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Previous heavy civil construction experience
  • Experience in the Water Industry
  • Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders
