Maintenance Technician Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs, troubleshooting, and servicing of mechanical and electrical systems, to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life.
  • Address plumbing and HVAC issues promptly to maintain a comfortable and healthy environment.
  • Repair and maintain building structures, including carpentry and painting tasks, to ensure a safe and attractive living space.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize disruptions and ensure resident satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and execute maintenance projects, ensuring effective use of resources and timely completion.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to extend the life of equipment and systems, reducing the need for costly repairs and downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to protect residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Schedule and oversee all vendor work on the property to ensure quality and timely completion.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role, with a strong track record of reliability and attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with the ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, with a focus on safety and responsibility.
