Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with our surgical team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures, ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient safety.
  • Assist the surgical team with patient preparation, positioning, and draping, as well as with the handling and processing of surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Participate in the setup and maintenance of the operating room, including the preparation of equipment, supplies, and medications.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination during procedures.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, promoting a positive and respectful environment.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with the latest surgical techniques, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent.
  • Associate degree in Surgical Technology or related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in a perioperative setting, preferably in a hospital or surgical center.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
