Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our Neurosurgery team at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for evaluating emergency department patients, managing admitted neurosurgical patients, and assisting in neurosurgical cases in the operating room.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate emergency department patients and manage admitted neurosurgical patients in a hospital setting.
  • Assist in neurosurgical cases in the operating room.
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
  • Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations, and care.
Requirements

Nurse Practitioner:

  • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing.

Physician Assistant:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board.
  • Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Preferred Qualifications

2 plus years of experience in the field of neurosurgery is strongly preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.

2 plus years of first assist in the OR is strongly preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
