Dishroom Attendant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Dishroom Attendant at The Common Man. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of our dining area.

1. Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glassware, and utensils, and load them into the dishwashing machine.
2. Sort and stack clean dishes, and transport them to the cook's line and other designated storage areas.
3. Change the dishwater in the dishwashing machine every hour to ensure optimal cleaning performance.
4. Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand, and sanitize them to prevent the spread of bacteria.
5. Remove trash and garbage from the dishroom and dispose of it in the designated dumpster.
6. Set up and break down the dishwashing area as needed, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
7. Clean and roll/unroll mats, and fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning solutions.
8. Sweep and mop the floors to prevent slipping hazards and maintain a clean environment.
9. Assemble and disassemble the dishwashing machine as needed, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
10. Sweep up trash and debris around the exterior of the restaurant and garbage dumpster.
11. Conduct general cleaning tasks as directed by management, including wiping down surfaces and cleaning equipment.
12. Notify management if the dishwashing machine's wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standards.
13. Practice good hygiene by washing your hands before handling clean dishes.

1. Ability to read and comprehend labels on cleaning chemicals.
2. Physical ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds, and stand for long periods of time.
3. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

This role operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to hot water, slippery floors, and cleaning chemicals. The employee must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
