Job Summary:

Under the administrative direction of the Radiology Director and clinical direction of the Radiologist, this Radiologic Imaging Specialist will perform radiologic procedures with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, and able to work independently as a team player.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate imaging equipment to perform procedures in a safe and optimal manner.
  • Review medical records for patient history and pertinent clinical information.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals as authorized by the Radiologist.
  • Recognize and respond to hypersensitivity and/or allergic reactions.
  • Review studies for overall quality and perform quality control procedures on imaging and ancillary equipment.
  • Organize daily work schedule and respond to emergencies as necessary.
  • Interact professionally with patients, colleagues, and other co-workers to effectively complete daily tasks.
  • Participate in the Performance Improvement Program and continuing education activities as required.

Requirements:
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist by the State of Maine.
  • Current CPR certification.

Work Environment:
This position requires the ability to transport patients, which involves lifting and assisting others in lifting to assist patients. Lifting and filing of film requires bending and lifting overhead as needed. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality of medical information.
