Job Summary

As a Speech-Language Pathologist with the Jefferson County School District (MS), you will play a vital role in providing speech-language services to students in Pre-K through 12th grades. Your expertise will help address personal, social/emotional, academic, and vocational needs that impact student academic achievement.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement building/therapy schedules to ensure effective delivery of speech-language services.
2. Provide direct and indirect therapy services to students in the speech-language program, including continuous evaluation and annual updating of Individual Education Plans.
3. Submit reports and conduct eligibility meetings to meet local, state, and federal regulations.
4. Perform and interpret diagnostic evaluations to determine eligibility and make recommendations.
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of speech-language students and submit rolls to relevant personnel.
6. Provide consulting services to parents, teachers, administrators, and colleagues.
7. Establish a referral/screening and evaluation system for speech-language services.
8. Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary team in the referral/diagnostic process.
9. Support the hearing screening program and provide input assistance as needed.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Job Functions

1. Adhere to state statutes, school board policies, and regulations.
2. Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
3. Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
4. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
5. Serve on committees as assigned.
6. Remain current on instructional practices in education, including instructional technology.

Requirements

A valid license from MDE indicating endorsement in Speech-Language Pathology, Master's Degree preferred, and ASHA certification are required for this position.
