Vast is seeking a highly skilled Senior Lighting Engineer to join our team in Long Beach. As a key member of our Human Systems team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing lighting systems for our artificial-gravity space stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lighting systems that meet the needs of our crew-habitable space stations
  • Collaborate with hardware and manufacturing engineers to develop customized, space-rated lighting solutions
  • Ensure lighting systems adhere to all applicable requirements and standards
  • Design and develop lighting control systems that meet design and network architecture specifications
  • Produce lighting layouts and analyses to ensure adequate lighting in both nominal and emergency scenarios
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in light/illumination design
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience with audio and acoustic design
  • Ability to make independent judgments with limited information
  • Communication skills for relaying data between other employees, vendors, and customers
