Preparation Plant Supervisor

Leer South is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Preparation Plant Supervisor to join our team in Philippi, West Virginia. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for directing the safe work practices of Plant Maintenance Technicians and maintaining plant equipment to achieve budgeted production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement all safety and environmental policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate production projects with the Plant Manager and maintenance projects with the Maintenance Planner.
• Supervise and provide direction to hourly employees, instructing them in the proper performance of each task and advising them of any hazards.
• Perform pre-shift inspections, test, and monitor employees responsible for performing safety checks and tests.
• Maintain necessary records associated with plant functions and refuse disposal.
• Monitor supplies to keep adequate amounts of materials on hand and stored in an orderly manner.
• Communicate changes in plant operations to management and other shifts, which may impact productivity.
• Prepare and deliver effective safety meetings and assure performance standards are maintained.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Monitor environmental compliance in accordance with the company's environmental compliance plan.
• Process and load product according to varying coal quality initiatives.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 5 years of prep plant experience with 2 years of supervisory experience.
• West Virginia Surface Certification preferred.
• Advanced First Aid certification a plus.
• Proven safety and attendance record.
• Proven leadership ability.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Computer Proficiency.
