Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Global Recruiters of Charlottesville (GRN) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the development of mechanical system design documents for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage team members in developing mechanical system design documents for construction projects.
  • Engage with clients, stakeholders, and other consultant firms to meet project needs and address requirements.
  • Oversee the design of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, medical gas, and fire suppression, for new facility construction and existing facility renovation.
  • Apply engineering judgment and critical thinking to arrive at the most efficient and economical mechanical system design.
  • Participate in design charrettes and coordinate with other disciplines and offices, as well as other consultants and required subconsultants.
  • Employ CAD software and other resources to prepare design plans, including REVIT, Trane Trace, and other software modeling.

Requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (TN or ability to obtain TN PE in six months).
  • 15+ years of mechanical systems and piping design experience.
  • Strong knowledge of state, local, and federal building and plumbing codes, standards, various building systems, and building MEP systems.
  • Proficient in Revit and knowledgeable in AutoCAD and/or Trane Trace or HAP 700.
  • Ready and willing to lead and grow.
