Job Overview

Southlake Orthopaedics, a leading Orthopaedic facility, is seeking a dedicated MRI Technologist. This role involves executing magnetic resonance imaging procedures as per the directives of our healthcare providers. A comprehensive understanding of human anatomy and MRI safety protocols is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide care for patients across all age groups; warmly welcome and thoroughly explain the imaging process.
  • Conduct patient screenings prior to examinations to identify any potential risks or contraindications (e.g., pain, claustrophobia, metallic implants).
  • Prepare patients for MRI scans by positioning them to minimize discomfort and administering contrast agents when necessary; guide patients on proper body positioning.
  • Capture high-quality diagnostic images of the specified anatomy while adhering to safety standards.
  • Ensure the safety of all patients and staff in relation to the MRI magnet.
  • Maintain MRI equipment in optimal working condition, following proper infection control protocols.
  • Stay informed about the preferred anatomical views as indicated by the physicians.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Possession of a valid Alabama state license or certification as an MRI Technologist is mandatory.
  • National registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) is required.
  • Experience in Orthopaedics is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHRs), particularly Greenway PrimeSuite, is advantageous.
  • Ability to implement effective organizational systems to facilitate timely patient processing.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to accurately identify areas for imaging.
