Senior Estimator Job Description

An industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking a seasoned Senior Estimator to drive their estimating efforts forward. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating industrial equipment, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in this field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine key variables for cost and other estimates, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough research to gather data on labor costs, materials, and production times, staying up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Review and analyze offers and quotes from subcontractors and vendors, making informed decisions to drive business growth.
  • Perform risk analysis to identify potential challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and submit estimate reports or bids to project managers, clients, and sales teams, effectively communicating project scope and costs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers, fostering a collaborative environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum 10 years of estimating experience in industrial equipment, with a strong understanding of industry-specific software and systems.
  • Advanced training in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, as well as Welding Symbols, is highly desirable.
