Maintenance Scheduler/Planner Job Description

At O-AT-KA, we're committed to honoring the tireless effort and care of our farmer-owners. As a Maintenance Scheduler/Planner, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our operations by planning and scheduling maintenance work on equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze work orders to determine the best course of action, considering factors like size, urgency, skill set, location, complexity, and available resources.
  • Prepare daily and weekly maintenance schedules to ensure efficient work completion.
  • Manage work through our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including scheduling PM frequencies, assigning work, reviewing open work, and uploading information.
  • Work with the management team to prioritize incoming and backlog work.
  • Develop job plans for repair, process improvements, and PM work, which may involve obtaining drawings, documentation, manuals, and contacting vendors.
  • Requisition parts, tools, and materials as required.
  • Coordinate work with contractors and outside services as needed.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute workflow processes to the maintenance team, documenting how work is planned, scheduled, and executed.
  • Provide regular statistical reporting to the management team and customers, showcasing the productive use of the workforce.
  • Use guidelines set by management to develop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance and life cycle optimization strategies.
  • Analyze predictive maintenance data for trends and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
  • Participate in on-call coverage for the Maintenance team.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree and/or a minimum of four (4) years' related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with high-volume, automated processing equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Planning and/or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • CMMS knowledge.
  • Dairy and/or food processing knowledge.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Maintenance and/or manufacturing background.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, with strong troubleshooting abilities and the capacity to validate work order requirements.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with excellent follow-up practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, generate reports, and effectively present information to internal departments and/or large groups of employees.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, co-workers, and/or supervisors.
