The Role
Adobe Research is on the lookout for a Senior Computational Research Specialist in the fields of computer graphics, computer vision, and machine learning to join our Graphics and 3D Imaging Research team. This position offers a unique chance to envision and develop the creative tools of tomorrow. You will collaborate with a distinguished team of researchers and engineers to devise algorithms that tackle complex research challenges and integrate these innovations into Adobe products, thereby impacting millions of creative professionals worldwide.
Your Responsibilities
- Investigate research challenges in computer graphics, computer vision, and machine learning, with a particular emphasis on generative AI techniques for content creation across 3D, vector graphics, and images.
- Collaborate with fellow researchers at Adobe to create cutting-edge algorithms for generating synthetic data.
- Secure patents for these algorithms and publish findings in leading computer graphics, vision, and machine learning conferences.
- Develop and refine functional prototypes of tools based on the generated data.
- Work alongside product teams to incorporate these prototypes into Adobe's offerings.
Qualifications for Success
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, specializing in computer graphics, computer vision, or machine learning.
- A minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in pioneering research and translating findings into practical applications.
- Proficiency in crowdsourcing and human-in-the-loop data annotation.
- Experience with large-scale data organization and annotation, including extracting 3D information from video and utilizing generative AI for synthetic data creation.
- Knowledge of procedural modeling and synthetic data for analysis-by-synthesis or graphics applications.
- Familiarity with 3D content creation tools and their APIs (e.g., Blender, Maya, C4D).
Preferred Expertise
- Strong development skills in C++.
- Expertise in areas such as 3D graphics, 3D vision, deep learning, generative models for content synthesis, image processing, and computational photography.
- A robust personal research portfolio, including peer-reviewed publications in top-tier venues in computer vision, graphics, and machine learning.
- Proficient in Python and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Experience designing high-level APIs and frameworks.
- A passion for creating user-friendly creative tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
