School Counselor

The School Counselor will provide academic, social, and emotional support to students, creating a positive school environment through guidance, counseling services, and resources.

• Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic, social, and emotional challenges.
• Develop and implement school-wide programs to promote mental health and wellness.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student needs and create personalized interventions.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student strengths and areas for improvement.
• Provide crisis intervention and support for students in distress.
• Facilitate conflict resolution and mediation among students.
• Organize and lead workshops on topics such as stress management, study skills, and career exploration.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and interventions.
• Stay current on best practices in school counseling and mental health support.

• Master's degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Counselor Endorsement.
• Previous experience working with children and adolescents in a school or similar setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
