Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of machinery and facilities. This role requires a commitment to safety and efficiency in all maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute all tasks in accordance with established safety protocols.
  • Perform repairs on machinery, facilities, and utilities as per work order requests.
  • Organize and complete work orders for routine maintenance and preventive measures for machines and facilities.
  • Document and monitor specific maintenance activities on production equipment to enhance the preventative maintenance program.
  • Conduct major preventative maintenance related to electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Provide training to fellow mechanics and operators to maintain machinery effectively.
  • Complete maintenance work orders, detailing tasks performed, parts utilized, and time spent on each assignment.
  • Maintain daily time sheets reflecting tasks accomplished and time dedicated to each job.
  • Identify necessary purchases or replacements and submit requisitions to the administrator.
  • Recommend spare parts for inventory to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Train operators and other personnel to perform basic electrical and mechanical tasks.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance manager regarding repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment improvements.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in English communication.
  • Competent in using computers for email and maintenance management systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical processes.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills; familiarity with Thermoforming and Extrusion processes is advantageous.
  • Understanding of electrical circuits and controllers, including AC-DC-PLC systems.
  • Able to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Skilled in using various hand and power tools, as well as shop equipment.
  • Analytical mindset for troubleshooting and identifying root causes of issues.
  • Willingness to work overtime and be available for emergency situations.

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of lifting tool parts and machinery weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Able to push, pull, or carry light loads.

Work Environment

Exposure to elevated temperatures on the manufacturing floor is minimal. However, there is consistent exposure to noise (hearing protection is mandatory) and occasional exposure to dust and fumes (personal protective equipment is required in these cases).
