About the RoleWe are looking for a qualified and experienced Radiation Therapist to administer prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by the physician, ensuring accurate treatment planning and execution.
- Verify prescribed treatment dose before each treatment, verifying fields to be treated, and angles to be used.
- Assure placement of protective devices to shield healthy tissue from radiation exposure.
- Simulate patients using simulators, CT scanners, or other devices to accurately localize treatment areas.
- Display professionalism essential to the well-being of radiation oncology patients, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed treatment chart documentation, ensuring seamless communication among healthcare professionals.
- Observe clinical progress, recognizing signs of complications, and report them promptly to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols, performing machine safety checks, and reporting abnormalities or inconsistencies to management.
- ARRT Board eligible with a graduate degree in Radiation Therapy Technology from an accredited institution.
- BS in a related field with two years of clinical experience in a similar setting.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as required.
- Exceptional judgment and dependability, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
- Detail-oriented approach to treatment planning and execution.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering strong relationships with patients, colleagues, and healthcare teams.
$65,000 - $85,000 per annum, based on location and experience, providing a competitive compensation package for this role.
