Job Summary

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist at UNC Health Care, you will play a vital role in providing professional respiratory care to patients of all ages. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Administer respiratory care treatments, including aerosol medication delivery, basic bedside pulmonary function testing, and oxygen therapy.
  • Manage airway care, including tracheostomy care, tracheostomy tube changes, and endotracheal intubations and extubations.
  • Perform ventilator care, including setting up and verifying ventilator function, and providing weaning techniques.
  • Record patient information and maintain accurate records of patient care procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a CAHEA-approved training program in respiratory care.
  • Current license to practice respiratory care as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in North Carolina.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or eligible to sit for exam.
  • Current BCLS and ACLS certification.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week, with a night job schedule. The work assignment type is onsite, and the location is Nash UNC Health Care.
