Position Summary
The Food and Beverage (F&B) division encompasses a wide array of dining establishments dedicated to delivering exceptional culinary experiences as part of the overall guest experience. The Assistant Manager for Food & Beverage is tasked with overseeing daily operations and supporting the General Manager in training and supervising staff. This role thrives in a dynamic environment, requiring outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all guest interactions in the dining area are met with prompt, friendly, and professional service.
- Assist in managing dining operations, including staff training, scheduling, and performance oversight.
- Evaluate staff performance and provide constructive feedback, including recognition and necessary corrective actions.
- Support administrative functions such as hiring, cash management, reservations, inventory control, and record-keeping; may act as the manager in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
- Maintain high standards for food preparation, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation in compliance with regulations.
- Engage in leadership discussions to provide insights on dining operations and improvement opportunities.
- Complete management reports related to revenue, payroll, inventory, and operational logs.
- Understand and adhere to all policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Ensure that all guests feel welcomed and receive consistent, courteous service.
- Achieve company goals in sales, service quality, and facility standards through effective employee training and a positive work environment.
- Prepare necessary documentation, including forms and schedules, in an organized manner.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and cleanliness through regular inspections.
- Coordinate assignments for front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Manage inventory control for restaurant supplies.
- Conduct self-audits as required.
- Lead training initiatives for front-of-house staff to enhance the dining experience.
- Assist in other operational areas as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's or Culinary degree preferred.
- ServSafe certification or equivalent required.
- TIPS certification required.
- 3-5 years of experience in the restaurant industry, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Fluency in English required; bilingual candidates preferred.
The expected salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
