Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the HVAC Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the comfort and safety of our guests, patrons, and owners at Carillon Miami Wellness Resort.

This position requires a high level of technical expertise, sound decision-making skills, and a commitment to productivity and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance work on complex and highly technical equipment and systems.
  • Exhibit sound decision-making skills and set an example in productivity and professionalism.
  • Ensure compliance with all departmental rules, regulations, standards, dress code, and appearance.
  • Personally comply and teach compliance to co-workers regarding Federal, State, Local, Hotel, and Departmental Safety Regulations and Procedures.
  • Promote guest, patron, owner, and employee safety and security through strict adherence to Facility Security and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Eliminate hazards and/or safety violations.
  • Know and be able to teach the proper shut-down and start-up procedures for all utilities.
  • Complete preventive maintenance work, including the monitoring, control, and performance of scheduled P.M. on all systems.
  • Train other engineers in the proper performance of P.M. tasks.
  • Responsible for PPE (personal protection equipment) use and daily maintenance.
  • Assure the maintenance of a working parts inventory of all parts needed for the department.
  • Knowledge of vendor and pricing policies & procedures.
  • Maintain and control the tool inventory to include proper securing, storage, and training in the proper use and function.
  • Lead crewmembers in the repairs and maintenance of the Facility and the conditions, equipment, and devises therein.
  • Support the HotSOS work order system in implementation and adherence, including the prioritization of assigned work.
  • Originate work orders to remedy problems and/or faulty conditions and assure the quality and timeliness of the remedial work.
  • Maintains open and professional communication between management and staff.
  • Follow procedures in the use and maintenance of all communication equipment and devices.
  • Review all employee and department bulletin boards and strictly adhere to Carillon policies and procedures regarding confidentiality and communication of information.
  • Support the facility's Hazard Communication Program.
  • Assists in planning, execution, and the quality of the work assigned to the Engineering Maintenance team.
  • All activities, work, actions, and time are documented, in writing, on a daily basis.
  • Assists in the motivation of employees toward the attainment of reasonable work goals.
  • Provides feedback regarding the quality and productivity of department workers.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a hotel/resort or directly related industrial or facility maintenance.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Be an Expert and have "Journeyman" certifications in two or more Facility Engineering disciplines and proficiency in all other aspects of engineering maintenance, as directed by management.
  • Must possess good communication and organizational skills with the ability to work with a variety of people.
  • The ability and experience to safely use power equipment and hand tools necessary to accomplish repairs and maintenance work.
  • Must possess sufficient stamina to work under all types of weather conditions and to lift, carry, push, and/or pull a variety of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Physically capable of performing rigorous tasks including working from ladders, working beneath equipment, and in various conditions and settings are required for the normal performance of assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends.
  • The HVAC Technician must have current certifications and/or credentials to perform their specialty skills and disciplines. Such as a CFC.
  • Possession of a valid Florida driver license.
