We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Compass Group, North America. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking high-quality food, while ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities- Cooking and Food Preparation: Prepare and cook food following approved recipes and production standards, ensuring all deadlines are met based on production orders.
- Supervision and Leadership: Supervise hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and recommending disciplinary action as needed.
- Food Safety and Sanitation: Store food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures, ensuring proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils, cleaning workstations thoroughly before leaving the area.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner, relaying relevant information directly to supervisors.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent cooking and food preparation skills, with knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and train team members.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
