  • Role Summary
    Respiratory Therapists operate under the supervision of the Respiratory Care Manager and the lead therapist, delivering therapeutic, supportive, and monitoring services to patients as directed by medical professionals or established departmental protocols across various hospital settings. The Respiratory Therapist Level 2 (RT2) is required to have a minimum of one year of professional experience in respiratory care and must possess the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential along with a valid State of Maine Respiratory Therapist license. The RT2 should demonstrate proficiency in understanding cardiopulmonary conditions, respiratory diagnostic methods, treatment strategies, and the selection and upkeep of equipment for chronic, acute, and emergency care in all environments, including intensive care units. An RT2 must excel in patient evaluation and the interpretation of clinical data. External applicants meeting all qualifications may be considered for the RT2 position.
  • Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: Not applicable
  • Licenses/Certifications: Must maintain certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care as an RRT. Licensed by the Maine Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in Maine. Must hold and keep current certifications in BLS and NRP. ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital setting is required.
