Job Overview:
Under supervision, provide support in clinical environments and assist nursing staff with patient assessments and treatments. Execute essential administrative tasks including patient registration and managing incoming calls.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to established protocols to enhance clinic operations and support healthcare providers during patient evaluations.
2. Guide patients in completing health questionnaires and forms; reinforce fundamental information regarding hygiene, reproductive health, nutrition, and wellness.
3. Prepare examination rooms; offer technical support during assessments, anticipating the needs for instruments.
4. Conduct patient measurements, tests, and screenings such as blood pressure, vision, and urinalysis.
5. Perform routine blood draws and capillary tests for both adults and children. Dispense medications and administer injections, including vaccinations, as directed by healthcare professionals.
6. Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination areas; sterilize instruments and manage inventory of supplies.
7. Keep accurate logs, files, and records; gather clinical data and compile statistics.
8. Assist with patient registration and respond to telephone inquiries. Provide educational resources to patients. Schedule appointments and coordinate diagnostic testing, clarify referrals, and confirm appointments for various clinic services.
9. Prepare infectious waste for disposal and document laboratory results in patient records.
10. Collect and record patient payments, complete deposit forms, and prepare bank deposits. Greet clinic visitors, assist with routine clerical tasks, and operate standard office equipment including computers.
General Information:
This is an unclassified contract position. Employment is contingent upon the continuation of state/federal funding.
