Key Responsibilities- Assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care following established patient care standards.
- Float to various departments and sites throughout the organization to provide patient care, including scheduling day of staffing, multiple assignment locations within a single shift, travel assignments, or seasonal staffing patterns.
- Participate as a member of the healthcare team in cooperation with and under the direction of a clinical manager or designee.
- Demonstrate awareness of and support organization departmental and operating unit goals through participation in continuous quality improvement and departmental activities.
- Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
- Formulate and implement a plan of care for each patient, including interventions, evaluation of response to interventions, and documentation as appropriate to condition and age.
- Current nursing license in the designated state of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, as required by specialty assignment.
- Associate's degree in nursing (required) or Bachelor's degree in nursing (preferred).
- At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in acute care.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads. You may be exposed to high noise levels, bright lights, and physical altercations. You may also be required to use physical restraints and be exposed to human blood and other potentially infectious materials.
Physical RequirementsThis role requires manual dexterity, the ability to perform shift work, and the ability to maneuver the weight of patients. You must also be able to hear alarms, telephone, and audio recordings, and reach above shoulder level.
