Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer I to join our roadway group. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical assistance for the design, development, and construction of infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from various sources, including physical work sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, and subsurface utility information.
  • Perform basic professional civil engineering work, including conducting research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, resources, building, infrastructure, and transportation channels.
  • Provide entry-level technical assistance on various design requirements, operating strategies, and safety and functionality of end-users, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and field/work site notebook/logs.
  • Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures, including location data, statistical documentation, engineering studies and surveys, and construction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset.
  • Basic understanding of process and concepts for design/build.
  • Basic understanding of relevant environmental and construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
  • Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
  • Familiarity with discipline-specific design software.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical work week.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
