Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sleep Technologist to join our team at SSM Health. As a Sleep Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic sleep studies to evaluate and treat patients with sleep disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients and equipment for testing, including applying monitoring devices and recording physiologic calibrations.
  • Conduct interviews with patients to determine sleep disorder issues and explain testing procedures.
  • Perform and document testing, monitoring patients throughout the process and intervening as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues.
  • Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs, scoring, interpreting, and reporting results of sleep studies.
  • Prepare, calibrate, repair, and maintain equipment required for testing, determining and reporting needed repairs or replacements.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) certification from the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM).
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Work Environment

This position is located in the Sleep Lab at SSM Health and requires frequent standing, walking, and use of vision and depth perception. Occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs may be required.
