We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Architect, Enterprise Data Engineering to join our team at Insperity. As a key member of our Enterprise Data Engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering robust, maintainable, and standards-conformant data engineering solutions that meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and domain experts to determine requirements and model data engineering solutions.
- Work with Product Owners to ascertain roadmap feasibility and deliver data engineering solutions that adhere to given constraints, focusing on quality and time-to-market.
- Champion Enterprise Data Engineering Architecture, Patterns, and Guidance.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on data engineering platforms and tools.
- Use empirical data to assess architectural requirements and constraints, ensuring that requirements can be met with minimal upfront design at an acceptable cost and with acceptable tradeoffs.
- Ensure physical and logical designs fit within our Enterprise Data Engineering architectural framework and conform to accepted architectural standards.
- Identify necessary interactions with other applications/services and define Application Programming Interfaces (API) and service-level agreements (SLA).
- Formulate and evolve pattern-based data engineering designs appropriate for the solution, with a clear separation of concerns.
- Communicate and champion the design across the team, fostering an environment of shared goals, collective ownership, and collaboration in building a design strategy.
- Provide guidance on design and integration strategies on data engineering practices in the form of standards documentation, examples, training, and consultancy.
- Publish technical documentation, such as high-level design, logical diagrams, and support documentation, based on need and value.
- Write code and critique developers' code.
- Ensure data engineering designs and implementations fulfill not only functional needs but also non-functional needs, such as security, maintainability, extensibility, testability, stability, configurability, and supportability.
- Evaluate and adopt third-party products and platforms to solve data engineering problems.
- Participate in technical and leadership trainings as needed and/or recommended by supervisor.
- Coordinate architectural evolutions with Enterprise and Solutions Architects.
- Work with teams designated to implement and improve DevOps CI/CD practices.
- Help in release planning.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or four years of related work experience.
- Seven plus years of professional experience in Computer Science or a related field.
- Technical skills, including board knowledge of software development practices and procedures, proficiency in database technologies, working knowledge of data lakes, data warehousing, DevOps, CI/CD, Python, and SQL.
- Expertise in data integration and analytic methodologies, data modeling, and cloud services.
- Progressive experience in new technology, programming, application analysis, and disaster recovery.
- Knowledge of Workday and/or Salesforce is a plus.
Insperity provides a competitive compensation package, including a range of $83,300 - $137,200, depending on skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
