Job Title: Aerospace Propulsion Design Engineer

Virgin Galactic is seeking an experienced aerospace propulsion design engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Spaceship Propulsion team, you will be responsible for designing, modeling, and analyzing engineering solutions for components and subsystems in the hybrid propulsion system of our spaceship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop 3D CAD models and 2D engineering definitions for detail parts, assemblies, and installations inside the spaceship.
  • Establish manufacturing tolerances for production of components.
  • Develop and document system requirements and interface constraints for components.
  • Review, update, and compile engineering analytical definitions.
  • Perform preliminary stress analysis.
  • Support review of manufacturing plans and procedures to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure component performance in flight environments.
  • Support verification activities to ensure that the propulsion system meets requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 4 years relevant industry experience.
  • Proficient with CATIA V5 and preferred experience with 3D experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods for various materials.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software and configuration management processes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
What We Offer:

Virgin Galactic offers a competitive salary range of $85,900.00–$131,000.00 per year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, we also offer other forms of pay, such as bonus or long-term incentive, as part of the compensation package.
