Role Summary:

Under general supervision and in accordance with established protocols, you will serve as a vital member of the healthcare team, delivering respiratory therapy services across the continuum of patient care.

  • Administers therapeutic and rehabilitative procedures as well as diagnostic assessments for patients with, or at risk of, cardiopulmonary system abnormalities.
  • Collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to formulate optimal care plans for patients.
  • Conducts patient evaluations, assesses the suitability and effectiveness of therapies, and identifies which respiratory care tasks can be delegated to other team members.
  • Provides training to staff and students on designated respiratory care procedures and evaluates their proficiency.
  • May assume the role of lead therapist and mentor, as required.


Qualifications:

1. Completion of an AMA/CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program. An Associate's degree in Science, Allied Health, or equivalent experience is acceptable.

2. Registration (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required.

3. BCLS certification is mandatory; ACLS certification is preferred.

4. Must hold a valid license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
