Job Overview

Clean and prepare guest rooms to meet established standards of cleanliness and quality to ensure guest satisfaction and maximize revenue.

Responsibilities
  • Retrieve cleaning supplies, set up cleaning carts, and maintain a clean and organized workspace to enhance efficiency and ease of cleaning rooms.
  • Clean and sanitize windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures in rooms, public areas, and hallways to maintain a clean and presentable facility.
  • Replace towels, soaps, and room amenities, and restock literature to ensure adequate supply for arriving guests.
  • Wash hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas.
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings, including using a duster to reach vents and ceiling corners.
  • Strip and remake beds with fresh linens, checking for cleanliness and replacing if soiled.
  • Lift mattresses to check for soil between mattresses and under bed.
  • Inspect and maintain door and window locks to ensure they are in working order.
  • Inspect room equipment to ensure proper working order and report any deficiencies to the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Secure and maintain custody of equipment, keys, and supplies to protect and preserve hotel property.
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications
  • No formal education or training required.
  • No prior experience necessary.
  • Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing.
Physical Demands
  • Lift up to 50lbs. continually throughout a shift.
  • Push, pull, and move levers, equipment, and furniture throughout a shift.
  • Work with arms raised above head throughout a shift.
  • Maneuver fully loaded maid cart, weighing up to 50lbs., through hallways and into/out of closets during the entire workday.
  • Ability to identify minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas and read written instructions and computer print-outs.
