We are seeking a qualified Clinical Instructor to teach clinical courses for our Basic Nurse Assistant program at Lake Land College.
Key Responsibilities- Teach clinical courses as assigned by the Division Chair and approved by the Vice President, following course outlines approved by the college.
- Report attendance and grades as prescribed by the institution.
- Attend faculty meetings called by the Director or other administrative officers.
- Arrive at the clinical site prior to the scheduled time, allowing time to make patient assignments.
- Consider the general and special needs of the student, assist students in meeting needs or solving problems when necessary, and seek additional help from other college services.
- Observe, support, and enforce the regulations, policies, and programs of the college, and inform the President in writing of any problem that might have a detrimental effect on the college.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner, notify the appropriate Administrator well in advance of absences, and focus on student recruitment, retention, and success.
- Show an understanding of the community college philosophy, including its unique ties to the workforce and its district.
- Work as a member of a team, participate in development activities, and maintain current perspectives during clinical.
- Develop, assess, and maintain data for course and program assessment, and perform ongoing assessment to meet College and Program standards.
- Associate degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's preferred.
- Illinois RN License in good standing.
- Must be a registered professional nurse with a minimum of two years of nursing experience.
- Must have successfully completed a Train the Trainer course and a Department-approved evaluator course prior to initial approval.
- Registered nurses possessing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or higher are exempt from this requirement.
- Must also have one year of experience as a nurse in one or both of the following areas: teaching theory in an accredited nurse training program, or providing nursing care, including personal care and activities of daily living, to older adults or for chronically ill adults.
- Completed Train the Trainer course.
- Completed Evaluator Workshop through IDPH.
- Current CPR card.
- Background check required per IDPH.
This position is not eligible for benefits.
