Overview:
The Financial Consultant will engage with Credit Union members to provide guidance, develop, recommend, implement, and oversee financial planning and investment solutions. The primary offerings include mutual funds, annuities, 529 plans, and life insurance products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct meetings with members to collaboratively establish their financial objectives and priorities for tailored financial plans.
- Introduce non-deposit investment and insurance solutions while adhering to compliance standards established by regulatory bodies.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations concerning credit union compliance, including anti-money laundering laws.
- Encourage a positive work environment for Financial Advisor Associates through skill development and motivational coaching.
- Accurately manage and update member-client information and files in compliance with regulations.
- Perform periodic portfolio reviews for member-clients.
- Regularly meet with branch managers and staff to promote referral opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Education Department to deliver investment-related workshops.
- Stay informed about current investment products available through our broker/dealer.
- Timely completion of activity reports, marketing plans, and other assigned documentation.
- Address general inquiries from members regarding investment and credit union offerings.
- Promote cross-referrals or cross-sales of credit union products when appropriate.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in personal investment.
Experience:
Minimum of three years in sales and delivery of personal investment products, with at least one year in a financial institution.
Skills:
Proficient in personal computer applications, strong oral and written communication abilities, organizational skills, and knowledge of credit union policies. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and member relations is essential.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods, with occasional mobility required. Must have corrected vision and normal hearing capabilities.
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid driver's license and California Insurance Licenses (Life & Disability). FINRA licenses 7 and 66 registration are required. Financial Planning/Wealth Management Designation or equivalent must be obtained within two years.
