Position Overview: The individual will be accountable for the formulation, coordination, and enhancement of the project-specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Plan, ensuring adherence to the established policies and procedures necessary for the successful execution of the project in alignment with contractual obligations. This role includes overseeing, directing, and managing the execution of the QA/QC Plan along with the QA/QC personnel.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Project Manager or Project Executive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation and execution of the project-specific QA/QC Plan in collaboration with the project team, owner/architect team, and contractual documents.
  • Ensure that adequately qualified specialized personnel are appointed to fulfill the necessary expertise for plan execution.
  • Foster a cooperative working relationship with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors to guarantee the project-specific QA/QC Plan results in full compliance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop all QA/QC personnel, including contributing to performance evaluations.
  • Uphold strict compliance with ethical standards and regulations at all times.
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of the contract documents, including plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Develop engineering protocols, including document management, submission oversight, and tracking of Requests For Information (RFIs), material samples, and change orders.
  • Implement the project-specific QA/QC Plan in conjunction with the project safety strategy.
  • Comprehend the project execution strategy and align QA/QC procedures with the project timeline.
  • Continuously enhance strategies and tools for efficient documentation and compliance tracking.
  • Execute the QA/QC Plan in a manner that engages all project personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Conduct testing and inspections, coordinating third-party evaluations as necessary. Analyze and report findings.
  • Adapt and expand the QA/QC Plan as the project evolves, focusing on continual improvement.
  • Supervise the removal and replacement of non-compliant materials and/or workmanship, ensuring documentation of compliance before proceeding with subsequent work.
  • Investigate and implement additional QA/QC and Lean methodologies to enhance project delivery quality.
  • Oversee project close-out processes and quality reporting.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree coupled with a minimum of five years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and construction experience that encompasses both field and engineering responsibilities. Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, methods, materials, and their characteristics is essential. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, is required. Familiarity with project management software and strong leadership capabilities are crucial. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory. Proven leadership qualities with a commitment to mentoring staff are essential. QA/QC certification may be required based on project specifics.
